It’s been 5 years since Mozilla released its Firefox 1.0, the open source web browser has since then achieved amazing growth and community involvement from coders and developers around the globe.
Firefox has succeed to topple Microsoft’s IE that was grappling with security and vulnerability issues. Microsoft’s IE 6 was a big disaster when it launched with huge security bugs and issues, it was a nightmare for users using IE which constantly crashed. One of the prime reasons of exponential growth and usership for Firefox was Microsoft’s lack of innovation and product development for IE.
Firefox now dominates 24.07% of the web browser market stealing share from Microsoft’s monopoly position in the last 5 years. Microsoft share now stands at 64.64% from a high of 100%.
To celebrate its 5 th birthday, its having loads of contests, you can post a photo or video of your project to Flickr with the tag ‘Firefox5′. The best video and photos will be rewarded with a cool Firefox swag.
You can also create a poster design around Firefox’s 5 th Birthday , that will help spread the word about Firefox and the community.

Heheheheh! I bet you can not remember Netscape Navigator either! That was the original favourite browser that got deposed by IE and the code of which was used to establish FireFox upon. Now that is going back a good ten years!
Amazing achievment by the Firefox team because when it arrived IE and MS had been successful in killing all its competitors and in particular Netscape. FF has survived all threats – even from the friend and foe Chrome – and flying high!

FireFox rocks , I can’t surf the web with any other browser
It truly rocks, especially when it comes to browsing the net, visiting so many websites like the forums which require log in details as the password option of the FF works great over the net compared with the rest of the main browsing applications.
Started using Firefox since ver 1.0. It’s amazingly that Firefox is just a five year old kid while IE may turn 15 or 16 years old.

i am using Firefox since it was come into the light and i think its faster ,secure and user friendly as well.

Does anybody knows the Flock User (it´s compatible to firefox, but designed for Social Media integration and Blogging), it has some buggs at the moment, but I hope they will be fixed soon. I have tried it and it is very useful forall using blogging or social media to make money (or to have some fun).

I switched over to FireFox in 2005 and have not looked back since. It is gratifyinf that FF has cornered 25% of the market, but I feel that at 65% IE is still waaaay over-represented, and that their % marketshare will continue sliding. If IE didn’t come as bundled software I do feel that their figures would have been a lot worse a long time ago already!
FireFox gives real competition with IE. When I started using Firefox, IE just came out of my mind and never came back

Not usually but just make sure it’s compatible with 3.0.8 because some of those themes are old and won’t work. There’s usually a description of what they’ve updated on their new themes.

Firefox is the best for me. No one else.
Wow, I didn’t know that Firefox has only been around for about 5 years! I thought it was much older than that. When I think about it, I adopted the use of Firefox from the beginning and didn’t even know it.
Many people recommend me Chrome or Opera but I still can’t stop using good old Firefox. I know that every web browser has some good and some bad features but it is for me just the most comfortable to use Firefox. All those plugins and add-ons makes it just the best browser for me.

The only reason IE is used by so many people is laziness, most computer users use PC’s and they all have IE as their default browser, when all they have to do is take 60 seconds and install the FOX..
