How To Build a Successful High Traffic Blog

by ZK on July 8, 2009

At the last WordCamp San Francisco Tim Ferriss, author of The 4-Hour Workweek, gave a presentation titled “how to build a high traffic blog without killing yourself.”

It lasts 50 minutes, and he covers a wide range of topics, from writing valuable content, blog posting frequency, blogging tools and community building. Tim has used his blog very successfully to market his book ( his book and blog have the same title ) and has a lot of wisdom to share.

It’s worth listening to Tim speak, make sure you have 50 minutes to listen to him online or turn your speakers on and listen to him while you do something else.

how awesome would that be to actually get a book out of your blog? I did appreciate listening to this while I worked on my own blog, ironically, to find out more info about blog posting frequency and valuable content.

Thanks for the video post. The points are quite true and applicable to a lot of professional cases.

Many people believe that as soon as they set up their personal blogs online and then start writing and posting on the net, loads of page views will be driven towards their pages which might be wrong.

Blogs are easy to maintain and rather convenient to promote but the subjects need to focus over the items people search for on the web.

Ferris is amazing, who else would have 2,000 comments on a blog post? Anyone who hasn’t already read the 4-Hour Workweek should do themselves a favor and pick it up. Ferris is this young genius who seems to inherently understand the concept of working smarter, not harder. The book makes you realize how much time and productivity we waste every day.
