Michael Jackson - Thriller

Michael Jackson, one of my favourite music artists and the biggest pop icons in modern history, has passed away at the age of 50. The news was confirmed by news media and music channels all over the globe.

Michael Jackson’s YouTube channel – celebrates the 25th anniversary of Thriller – includes all of his most popular videos, many of which have been viewed tens of millions of times. Thriller has been regarded by many as the greatest music album and music video of all times.

According to Twitter tracking tool Twist, 22.61 % of Tweets contain the phrase “Michael Jackson”, MJ accounts for 9 % of the Tweets right now. More than 25 % contain the name “Micheal”. About 30 % of Tweets are talking about the star’s passing away.

After selling 750 million records all over the world and winning 13 Grammy Awards, The “Man in the Mirror” is no more.

Yeah, it sucks man. Michael Jackson was awesome in his day. He was a little odd at the end of his life, but I think fame to the degree he had it can cause you to be the way he was. I was really looking forward to him going back on tour too. 🙁

Chuggin@french press bodum June 26, 2009 - 3:14 pm

soooo sad! he was really so young, and I feel like he had absolutely no childhood at all. Obviously, his later years were pretty creepy, which makes it even sadder.

I like him being a boy singing together with his family group so natural and smart,no doubt he was a star and hope he was happy in this life.

News of Michael Jackson’s death swept through the nation like a rolling fire. It truly was a tragedy to see the legend die. He died at a young age too. Yesterday the whole nation was mourning his loss by blasting Michael Jackson songs, yes Twitter was bombarded by tweets concerning Michael. It really shows just how much of an impact he has had on the nation.

Too bad Michael died so young, relatively speaking. I wonder how the pain killer addiction will play out in this whole thing.

We are attending a basketball festival in Spokane Washington, and I’ve heard enough Michael Jackson music to last me for a lifetime! 🙂

Though I was not particularly fond of MJ’s kind of music, I must say that I always loved the way the young Jackson (with original skin and face) performed Billie Jean and the moonwalk! He was pure talent misused by the coterie around just like they spoilt many such careers!

It’s crazy what’s going on with tickets to Michael’s funeral now. People are selling them for crazy money or even “sexualy favours”. It’s simply disguisting.

RIP Michael Jackson…..I will still do the moonwalk when fooling around after too many beers. You body may have passed, but your musical legacy will make you truly immortal!

Thanks for the blog….I, too, am a fan of Michael and am of the opinion that his family will realize such a huge influx of riches from his music and memorabilia…they and their heirs will be set forever. His music sold more in the four days after his death than in the entire yaer preceding it. WOW!

I think that it is a shame that Micheal Jackson’s passing was at such a young age. It is a shame that he was unable to get painkiller addiction treatment. It is clear now that some time has passed that this is an issue he face on a daily basis.

It can be argued that his father killed him, if he had a loving father, he may become a more peaceful man and even have a happy family with a few kids.
His bitter childhood turn him into a man like what we saw.

He left indeed too early. “Thriller” is one of a kind. I think that all the success drove him into his dependency of prescription drugs. It looks like that he had not good people around him.
