90 Must have “WordPress Ping list”

Distribution of content is the best way to get more traffic on your blog. WordPress has an inbuilt updater to notify others that you have updated your blog. The updaters notify and ping their proprietary indices with your updates. Users surfing Technorati , Sphere and other services can now find your recent blog post.

By default wordpress sends ping to http://rpc.pingomatic.com

Other updaters that you need to use are below :

To set these up

Go to Settings –> Writing –> Scroll Down –> Update Services

Copy Paste the above urls and save the changes in you WordPress admin.

I too have a list that I was getting ready to post … one hint for others readers like me who already have a list – is to copy/paste their list into a spreadsheet – then copy/paste your list onto the spreadsheet – then sort the column. It seems like to forgot to check what sites Pingomatic already pings. Using you list will send pings to sites that Pingomatic already covers (which is not a good idea).

I’m sorry for the spelling errors. I think I posted a little to fast.

I forgot to add that you have several duplicates in your list, which will make it even worse. Adding your list + the normal pingomatic will i.e. ping IceRocket 3 times!! (Which could easily get your blog banned from their site).

Good list of sites to ping. I think sometimes your better off adding your own list instead of useing pingomatic. Sometimes it seems like some of the sites never get the ping or do not allow it.

To tell the truth, I find ping list a waste of time, I just use pingomatic, which pings all the main sites for you. Anything extra just lags wordpress when you post, and I have seen nothing to suggest that pinging extra services has any extra advantage, sure you might get more spiders crawling your site, but no real advantage?

I tend to agree with you. I’ve never seen much difference in traffic beyond using pingomatic. The others don’t seem to add any backlinks or drive any visitors, but I guess it can’t hurt?

If you are running WordPress, then you could install MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer. It will prevent you from repining blog posts which have already been pinged and getting banned.

This is a huge list and may help your blog exposure to the outsite world. But I see some problem here. You included in your list the PINGOMATIC which ping many sites that is listed as well in your ping list.

I will advise everybody to better check all the ping servers listed here and make sure there is no double entry or else it will cause your blog or site to be tagged as “ping spammer” and it will sink your site to the bottom.

Thanks for the list, have now added them to my pinging list. I also recommend the list from Pingler.com and if anyone has a wordpress blog I highly recommend the MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer (a wordpress plugin) as this helps your blog from not being pinged too much, as if you ping too much it could be interpreted as spam.

Whow what a list!

I haveadded some of them already to my wordpress blogs, but I will add all the others too! But are they all needed.

Ping-o-matic for example pings several services, after it becomes pinged by your blog, and ping goat too, so I think you will ping some of these services more than once. But as long as this doesent have any effect, it doesen´t really matter, right!

How long does it take for you to collect all these link´s?
