Relevant Search Results with NowRelevant

by ZK on August 2, 2010

Now Relevant Search Engine

How many times have you got frustrated seeing results on Google that are not relevant but only appear because they have tons of backlinks or have keyword relevancy. Check out any search results on Google you’ll find at least 3 to 4 results per page that are not relevant to your search query. Not only are the results not relevant but they are also outdated, you’ll find results that are at least six to eight months old appearing on the results page.

What is NowRelevant ?

NowRelevant is a new search engine that shows results up to 2 weeks or 14 days of the latest information posted on a particular topic. It works on the basis of a complex algorithm that deletes all the muddle on the websites to get search engine rankings that is relevant to your query.

NowRelevant like Google, also includes paid advertising that is, PPC advertisements but along with them you can also display text, graphic and video ads directly on the search results page. This allows you to stand out and make your advertising more explicit.

How Relevant are results from NowRelevant ?

There are several basic advantages that NowRelevant.com has to offer, the most obvious and important being that there is no cluttering of data like non relevant and outdated results, all these are filtered out to obtain the most apt search results. With NowRelevant the most relevant and current information is displayed, essentially the developments that have taken place regarding that topic in the past two weeks.

Search Results for NowRelevant

The most attention grabbing part of this best new search engine is that you can decide how current you want the information that is returned to you to be, that is the last three days or four days and so on. For this purpose, the site includes a slider. You can move the slider up and down depending on just how much back in time you want your research to go. The slider is an awesome feature that moves to adjust how far back in time you would like your search results to include. The slider has options from 1 day upto 14 days.

The NowRelevant engine runs on a very similar algo that runs the internet marketing program, Internet Time Machine, we spoke about this technology earlier this month.

Advertise on NowRelevant

NowRelevant displays text and video ads like Google Adwords. Ads can be displayed with normal text ads like in Google. It also has a similar area like the PPC ads to place 125*125 banner ads or even include embedded video ads. So whenever someone is looking over search results you can have the embedded video displayed as an ad.

The user can watch the video as many times as he wants within the search window and the marketer doesn’t get charged unless the link is clicked on. You can create add groups for your ads on NowRelevant. You will be able to see the current bidding price for a particular group you may be interested in. Add units have been created on NowRelevant.com where you can upload your ads. You can give in an importance level for your ads and decide how many times you want that add to show.

Interesting concept, but if I want recent content it is usually news related, so I just news Google News.

Yes it seems like they are trying to create a sub-niche where one is not necessary. They are trying to set themselves apart by only offering recent pages, but Google already gives you this capability. As a result the site is just limited to blogposts and news stories that aren’t even relevant.

I am not sure how it performs for US & Canada but for Australia, it’s not giving me good results. The good thing about Google is that it covers almost everything on earth.

I agree, big problem for Sweden and Spain, it’s just give me crape, Google is 100 times better.

Sounds cool, but it will be very difficult for an engine (any engine) to compete with Google. Google has become a habit, and its just not realistic to think that people are going to change their habits without a compelling reason.

Interesting idea, I wonder how it will fare against the other search engines, I never heard of this search engine before, how many people use it?

Never heard of it before, so it’s good to find a new search engine. However, Google also allows you to find results based on date. Google may show some irrelevant results, but I don’t think if there is any search engine yet that can show 100% authentic results.

But then, it’s good to know about this new SE.

I would soooo love to see another option to Google. Here’s hoping NowRelevant takes a market share from Google, eh.

Just hoping so won’t make a subpar search engine good enough to compete with Google. This search engine stands no chance of even competing with msn/bing and yahoo.

By the way, trying to use ‘eh’ on a Canadian based blog as an American just makes you look foolish. Didn’t they teach you in your english class that Americans say ‘huh’ instead?

I think it’s a decent concept, I just did a few searches on there, and to me the results aren’t quite what I expected, I still think it needs a little bit more fine tuning before it’s ready to battle with the giants.

Till then,

Obviously if the search words match then it’ll come up, but if a lot of videos have the same search words tagged what makes one more relevant than another?

I have come to know first time about this search engine and it seems really great but i think still it is not used well from the users if it is so new, need to see some results how it gives, accuracy and all that.
