Blog Writing

This is a guest post by Prachi Mehta

If you think that blog writing is similar to giving a speech then you should re-think. No doubt the fundamental remains the same and also, you try to attract a particular set of audience in both the cases but blogging requires more research and a firmer grip on the facts and the figures.

A blog should also follow the age old principle of start-body-end. NO wonder this golden rule is surely a 100% success.

The Golden Rule:
Tell people what you want to talk about, Talk about the subject, Pen down what you have told

The Starting – Tell people what you want to talk about

The starting is the place where you build a base ground for people to know what you are going to talk about in the whole article. It is necessary that this part catches hold of the attention of the people. It is actually the beginning which eventually helps in hooking the people and rising their interest. If your opening is not catchy then people might skip to other blogs, after all why should people read your blog (if they find it not so interesting)?

A vital ingredient of blog writing that often gets neglected is the ’setup’. Setup is really important as it sets a stage for your reader to know what you are about to share and why should they really care. A proper and right put setup helps your readers to follow the article easily. Most of the blog writers fail in this aspect.

Body – Talk about the subject

The Body is all about the subject you wish to talk about. It contains bulk information about the topic and long explanations. For instance, if you wish to explain about a particular problem, say malaria, body talks about the symptoms, causes and prevention of malaria. Actually, it is the place where you deliver the key points. One can also include charts and table to make the topic explanatory. Also try and focus a little bit on the figures. Figures and numbers help to make your blog look more reliable and informative. Once you are through with explaining stuff, it is the time to wrap the things up.

The Closing – Pen down what you have told
Once you are done with explanation, then what? Now is the time when you ‘talk’ what you have already said. Put in a bit of effort to summarize the things and put your message across more strongly. Re-emphasize on the key points in a more direct manner.

All these form a major part of building a successful blog writing post but there are things one should not forget. Like:

The Title – Main attraction
It should be such that the reader is able to relate to it. It should be eye-catchy yet loaded with keywords.

The Conclusion – All is well that ends well.
This is the place where you can air your thoughts and ideas about the subject. Do not force something on a reader while you are trying to promote an item. Instead, leave them with open options while stating your opinion about the item.

Blog writing

This is a guest post by Prachi Mehta

In a world where every other person considers himself a Shakespeare, if you plan to stand out, you must know how to keep your readers on the edge of their seats. One can start from being original and witty. But mind you this writing business is much more than that.

The starting and the title surely holds the golden key to capturing the attention of your readers. It provides the readers with an overall idea of what the writer is actually going to talk about. If you  fail to provide an enticing and alluring starting, you might watch them walk off to other articles.

When you can write “maginificently amazing”, then why do you bother to just write “amazing”. Being descriptive and more ellaborate can come handy when people are looking for quality articles. If you are a writer then you should understand that words are your candy and words are your sword, So do not forget to keep an open space for them.

Readers enjoy reading about new things; so make sure to add current and interesting content. Unless you have anything different and constructive to offer why would somebody waste time reading your articles despite the fact how wonderfully it is written. Also try and push in some facts and figures, this gives a feel of factuality and an air of certainity.

Your readers will never leave you if you get them going like a simple flow of feather. It is important to help your readers feel related and involved. Form a plot that gives them a chance to do some thinking themselves. Show them the obvious to take them off guard and learn to hit the right cords at the right time. More vivid and emotionally charged a decription is, more are the chances of it going beyond the intellect of a reader and reach the heart.

Put in a good amount of research on the kind of audience you are targetting. It not only guides you in jotting down the right kind of content but also influences the style of writing. Also it does no ham in adding a tinge of conflict as it helps in holding the reader completely immersed. Conflict is basically providing satisfying answers to problems that you may plot to arise in your reader’s head.

Most of the writers are seen to forget about the basic rule of writing. One must abide to the conventional rule of start-body-conclusion. It sounds good to get unconventional at times but if you want to keep the readers interested all through then stick to this golden rule. Sometimes a particular style is loved by a certain group of people but may be opposed by another section. So balance the article proportinately.

Making a person read your article is one thing and making an impression is another. So equip yourself before you plan to push a revolutionary spell on your readers.
