I always wondered if .blog would have any significance to your blog, would you get more traffic if your blog was not a .com but a .blog ?
I don’t have the answer to this, and we’ll have to wait and watch how .blog picks up, but it’s a good opportunity for you to book your blog or website domains on .blog.
The domain .blog will open for registrations sometime in 2016 and Automattic the parent company that owns and runs the awesome wordpress platform has got the rights to manage the sale of .blog registrations. Although the exact dates and pricing on the sale of domain registrations is not yet finalized, the automatic team on their blog announced that they have secured the rights to manage this.
I would advise you to take up the .blog domain for your blogs as soon as it opens up for registrations, don’t let your competitors take this up before you.
.Blog domains will be available to all website and blogs starting this year.
