Get 1000's of Twitter Followers

The launch of 1MTweets.com is a movement that is revolutionizing the way social causes connect with online communities. One Million Tweets to remember or 1MTweets.com seeks to digitally memorialize one million people who have lived with Alzheimer’s disease. Built on Twitter, 1MTweets allows families and friends to tweet about Alzheimer’s sufferer they are memorializing and to make a donation to research on the aging brain.

Tweeters can also create a multimedia web page called twibute for their loved ones to expand thoughts on their tweet. 1MTweets.com unleashes the power of social media for a philanthropic cause. The site raises awareness for Alzheimer’s and memorializes those who have lived with this devastating disease. The site is a great social media movement that brings together a blend of online communities and contributions to charities.

Jordan Banks has launched this program in the honor of his grand parents Irv, Becky, Anna and Shirley all of whom bravely fought Alzheimer’s disease. All proceeds go to research projects focusing on the aging brain and Alzheimer’s disease.

It’s very good to hear that Twitter is being used for good causes, like Alzheimer’s research. I’m sure people will be comforted by this, especially since so many people spam or want your money on Twitter. Hopefully, people will take the hint and begin to use this social media network for more good causes.

Looks like a novel use of the Twitter system. I hope it gains some momemtum and manages to take off – I’ll support any philanthropic uses of Twitter like this one.
