5 Simple Ways for Generating Blog Content

Generating Blog Content

The results of writing a good blog post is only limited by the amount of posts you write. Some say that in order to make money with your blog, you need to post 5-10 new posts daily. The more pages you have on your blog, the better standing you will have with Google Adsense and other ad companies, but a viable amount is thousands of pages per blog. So, how do you build a blog with thousands of pages?  Use some simple tricks for generating blog content, and eventually your blog will have an impressive number of pages.

Build Your Blog Over Time
If your goal is to write 3650 blogs this year, you may overwhelm yourself. When you are overwhelmed, you may not write the best content of which you are capable. You may not even write at all. So instead of looking at the long term goal, look at a daily goal. Try to post 5-10 blog entrees a day, even on the weekends. Before you know it, you will have several hundred pages on your blog.

Pick a Topic that Interests You
You will be far more likely to learn about and then blog about something that naturally interests you. If you are interested in posters, then you should blog about posters. Blog about printing posters, hanging posters, and selling posters. When you run out of personal knowledge about posters, then it is time to do the research and find out more.

Start More Than One Blog
If you are running out of things to say for one blog, then it is time to start a new blog. Now instead of posters, you can write about books or interior design. As long as you are truly interested, you will find something to say. When you have multiple blogs, you have even more opportunity to earn money, but don’t take on too many blogs as you will still need to post 5-10 new pages a day for each blog you start.

Find Blog Worthy News Online
Read hot topics on Google news or Bloglines.com’s news aggregators to find blog worthy information. You will be able to see what others are blogging about, and in return it will give you something to blog about.

Get Others to Write for You
You don’t have to hire writers to get more blog entrees. You can trade links and articles with like-minded bloggers. This way you can get fresh input and add pages to your blog at the same time. The new links and associations will be great for your rankings as well.

The time you invest in your blogs can pay off if you write great content and plenty of it. Just take a steady-on approach and avoid overwhelming yourself, and one day your blog will be one that other bloggers envy.

Great post Anna, I think I’m going to start getting people to write for me, having another person writing on my blog once in a while would be refreshing!

No offense, but that is poor advice to tell people to aim for 5-10 blogposts per day. That is a ridiculously high number. Unless you have some goal of becoming an authority blog in mere months, this is not necessary. Most successful blogs do well with 1 post per day. By trying to write so much content, you would seriously sacrifice the content quality. Regardless of the topic, it will eventually become difficult to keep writing at such an insane pace. By trying to do 5-10 posts per day, you would end up covering a lot of good topics early on and over time struggle more and more to find something worthwhile to write about. It is a recipe for failure.

I agree 100 % , if you are a new blogger I would recommend you to start with two posts a week and then gradually move to three posts a week or about 15 posts a month. While all of us would ideally want our blogs to have 5 – 6 a day , its not going to be possible for a while.

My advice is start blogging the rest will follow

Hi Anna,
1 or 2 posts a day with 300 words each is enough in the beginning. When Google have found your blog and starting ranking all titles and keywords it in the SERP, can you go down too 1 post a day and also take in guest bloggers.

I agree that 5-6 posts per day is too much. One or two are fine as long as you have quality post and the copy pasted content..

This is a great post. However, 5-10 posts a day is way to much content for me. Around 400 words each post..thats 2000 words a day at least. Thats a lot of content!

I agree with @AluminumCases and @ConnorBringas. 5-10 Entries a day is too much content. 1 Post per day is doing just fine for me. I just started my blog about 4 days ago and I already have over 30 visitors a day. I just give tips to Beginner Bloggers. Thank you for sharing.

Great start after only 4 days. You must be doing an effective job marketing. In time that will likely grow a lot. 1 post a day is a reasonable pace.

You should space out your blog posts so you don’t burn out, a couple posts a day is good. Just make sure you have a schedule and stick with it.

5-10 posts a day? Wow, I have trouble with 5-10 posts a year these days lol

More content is great, but most MMO Bloggers typically write a post a day and have pretty good success. Especially those that can write something a bit more intriguing than product pitches 🙂

Good point. Writing quality content takes longer. If you are just doing product pitches that daily post goal may be easier. Really though, to build a quality blog with a strong following, you’ve got to take the time to write good content.

You are on point with this post. It is hard to post that much daily and I can get extremely overwhelming. I tend to use guest bloggers on a couple of my sites. The other good tip that I use often is finding blog worthy news and write my take on it.

“post 5-10 new posts daily”

Yikes, that is a lot of posts!

We have done well with this idea. Often times we will have someone write for us, then do minor edits and post.

Is someone hinting that ZK should have edited the 5-10 post part? It is an interesting scenario to have guest posters who have conflicting views with the main blogger. I think some bloggers would want to have more control over the information their blog is supplying.

Reply
ZK September 9, 2010 - 10:05 am

@Aluminum Cases

I deliberately did not edit it

– One: It was the guest authors opinion and we all have different view points. I want this blog to be a medium to express yourself as long as its not offensive or wrong

– Two : It adds to the entire debate value on the blog

few points to be noted here , ie in my point of view.

1. you need not write something you know , but something people want to know
2. try and get one blog on top search results and then move for new niches /blogs

3. Offer others backlinks for guest posts

It’s really good idea for generating blog content, but write 5-10 post per day it’s really hard. I think short term goal like write 7-10 post per week.

They seem a lot of posts to start with. I think that in order to achieve that you have to be a full time blogger. It might be worth it on the long term if you could live out of this.

With those kinds of levels of daily posts, you really do need to be in a blog topic that you enjoy. Not 100% sure you need those kinds of levels to guarantee success, as in my experience with the right know-how any level will suffice as long as you are consistent.

Till then,

Jean

I agree that 5-10 posts a day will put your blog on the fast track. The key is to find a niche/topic where it isn’t such a daunting task to churn out this many quality posts in a day.

Your advice would seem to advocate quantity over quality which I would disagree with. While keeping a blog active is certainly important what you write is far more important. If your writings don’t capture the attention of those that visit what’s the point?

Blogging is the best way to stay the visitors connected. At first when started a blog you may have dofollow relation. But later on you should update your blog content on the daily basis and provide the visitors with the latest things. Starting new blogs I mean more than one will multiply your benefits.

5-10 post per day , are you kidding!!!! It’s not possible to write 5-10 quality post per day on a same topic unless until your are copy pasting the post/article from the other sites.

Everyone is an expert at something and can write how-to articles based on experience. These can be very helpful to people who are looking for information about accomplishing a specific task.
