Google rolls out PageRank update

Google PageRank Update

For all those who debated that PageRank was over and done with, Google rolled out a new PageRank update over the last couple of days. The last updated was in April 2010 almost nine month ago.

Earlier Google would roll out PageRank updates very frequently every 3 month or so, there has been a long time lag between PageRank updates in recent times.

The PageRank on this blog hasn’t changed but one of my other sites got an increase of PR 4 from PR 3, I noticed on a lot of forums and communities that webmasters and bloggers have seen an increase in Google PageRank for their sites which is a good trend. Google has been friendly in their update 🙂

What about you, did you see any PageRank update for your blogs or websites ?

You know for the longest time I really thought Google just decided to not do the updates anymore. Just figured it was thing of the past, but once again I stand corrected.

Glad they did it and I have even heard they are going to start doing it more frequently. I didn’t get a PR increase but my traffic value increased by 22K so I am good with that 🙂

Google should do away with PR and concentrate more on relevancy of search results

I don’t think people started to think that Google has abandon pagerank but rather they have lowered it’s weight in SERPs. Now all the rage is understanding the algorithm changes and how to get higher SERPs results regardless of PR value.

Also, Google’s exclusive license for PR is about to expire this year, so if they won’t do something about it, PR may appear everywhere. I can already see something like Twitter PR 🙂

I got PR 7 in this update. It’s an unexpected rice from PR 6 because I haven’t done anything special for PR but tried to stick on the policies of Google.

Great going 🙂 , getting PR 7 is a tough one….can you share with us if there has been an increase in traffic from Google or rankings for your blog.

My one year old blog stayed at 0. Not doing any SEO on it though.

My other sites PR did not change.

Well I heard it here first ZK. And you are definitely right. I too had thought Google just forgot about Pagerank. I wonder if they will go back to updating every three months or so.

Great to see, but made no differance to my site even though we have increased links and rankings for keywords, in the end it only matters where you rank for the keywords you using.

Finally, we see a PageRank update… after so many months. My site went from PR8 to PR0! 🙂

pr mainly depends upon the back links of the website or blog and content which we are used in the website or blog

Hi ZK,
Google’s Page Ranking is useless; it was of interest in the middle of 2003 to 2007, after that doesn’t have it no function at all. I don’t even looking on what my sites and blogs have for PR today.

I was also being a part of pagerank update as in my case it was decreased from 4 to 3. It will be appreciated if you write a post on reasons why pagerank droped?

Thanks for the reminder about PR. Our company website just went up from PR4 to PR5. So I was quite happy with that. It can take quite a lot of links to improve PR after about PR3. I know PR doesn’t really mean much anymore, but it is still a sign that you’ve accumulated more good links.

I think page ranking really matters and yes , i think i’ve been working really hard to see a rise in my blogs page rank . It did increase to PR4 in the last month but the weird thing is it suddenly dropped to PR 2 this month . It’s really disappointing .
