This Web Marketing Blog was started in June 2008, as the blog started to gain traffic I decided to offer the best possible value to my readers. I’ve decided to change the blog theme and recently purchased the popular Thesis WordPress Theme. I am excited to power this blog on it.

Thesis is a premium theme which will cost you $87 for a personal license (or single license : can be used only on a single or one blog) and $164 for a developer’s license ( or unlimited license : can be used on unlimited number of blogs ), I purchased the developer’s license for $164 and recommend you to go for the same to be able to use it on unlimited blogs. I’ve purchased the developers license as it would be a good investment in the long run.
Thesis WordPress Theme is rock solid and comes with a very clean look and feel, less code ( which will help getting your blog posts indexed much faster on Google and other search Engines as Thesis is a very Search Engine Optimized theme ) and a great support community. All these elements will improve this blog and make it look more authorative and professional. I will also work on further improving the blog and hopefully you will like the changes I make.

Thesis is an amazing theme, but your blog looks great now…why do you want to move to thesis ?

I like the backend structure of thesis and the clean look. The front end is very easily customizable, which means that I can have the same look and feel of this blog powered on a much better and cleaner code at the backend.

Yeah ZK, complicated structure may tire your readers while reading your blog post. I do prefer clean and neat background too. Btw, I won the 4 themes in BlogThemesClub, I’ll soon switch to one of the themes, that would be Anima Theme. How do you think about these 4 themes ZK?

Thanks ZK, I’m going to switch my theme to Anima theme, I believe that it’s relevant to my niche as well.
Btw, I’ve checked out Ultimate Blogging Theme before, I’ve asked for them for quotation as well, the price is high (perhaps it’s not expensive but I’m not affordable for that.), about $2500 for a customize theme if i was not mistaken.
Anyway, definitely I’ll get one in future.

I don’t think you need a custom theme right now….A premium blog theme is a good start for your blog, you can think of changing to a custom theme when you get significant traffic on your blog but these are just my views

ZK, my take on it is this… if something works… why break it? I know we as bloggers and webmasters are always looking to improve, but sometimes… the outside view might be different. Perhaps a poll asking you’re readers, with screenshots of both… Thesis vs the current look, whichever wins… is the blog theme.

It’s a very attractive, very flexible theme. It will, however, cost you some money: $87, last I heard. (Which is not much more than I spent on Movable Type before switching to WordPress, come to think of it.)

From what I heard, Thesis is heavily server intensive. But I heard it from a developer in India (whose opinion I trust, but who may not have as much experience with Thesis as others). Would like to hear some other thoughts to find out what people think about it being too intensive to run on a heavily visited site.

Its not a heavy to run site, top bloggers would not run their blogs on it if thesis had any such issues

That’s a wise decision! Recently i read a blog about all the detailed features of Thesis Theme and was amazed to see the clean and smart Theme presented by wordpress. I am waiting and looking forward to see to what makeover it does to your blog,i think its going to look great!!!

your current theme is kind of heavy.
Try saving this web page (complete)…the size of all files would add upto 1.2 Mb
Think about how slow your site would load for a user with dial up connection.

I agree that I love the clean look of the Thesis theme, but I had no idea it was so expensive! This is something that I to have wanted to do for my own blog, but I’m going to have to budget that cost in for myself.

In Wordpress 2.7 (current version) you can go to appearance and then select edit. From there you will see a list of all the files that run wordpress on the right side. Select stylesheet.css and look for the two content area and find the styling and make changes.
The last option of course (which is hard to know) is depending on your theme there might be an extra set up options based on the theme that would allow you do do this. For example the Mandigo theme and Semio Logic theme both allow you to set your sidebars right or left or any combination thereof.

Its surprising how even a subtle change here and there can make a big difference on the appearance of a site. All 3 blogs use the same template yet look completely different. I do like the beachbody design looks very clean. If you are learning css and not too confident yet, firebug is a good firefox plugin for playing around with the code and viewing the results live.

ZK I just switched my blog theme to the frugal theme on wordpress and I’m very happy with it. I also like cleaner sites so I integrated my site into the theme as well. I dont think you will be disappointed with the move.

I’ve been looking at the Thesis theme for quite sometime now. I’ve looked at a number of others as well, but keep coming back to Thesis as I like the versatility and described ease of use. I especially like the idea of not having to muck with any code (which I can do, but don’t like). I like the look and feel of your layout, so I guess I’m going to have to bite the bullet and grab the developer license.
I like the Thesis theme myself, and am looking forward to seeing what your final result looks like. When do you plan on switching over?
