Good Morning Sunday: Bruce Lee comes alive in Johnnie Walker Ad

Bruce Lee Quote

Bruce Lee, the martial arts legend who dies 40 years ago has been brought back to life by Johnnie Walker.

In a recent 90 second Johnnie Walker advertisement, Bruce Lee is seen standing on a high rise hotel balcony overlooking Hongkong.

The ad is an extension of the Johnnie Walker series – “Keep Walking”. Where legendary Gamer Changers like Mahatma Gandhi have been featured previously.

The ad is based on one of the most famous Bruce Lee quotes, “Empty your mind, be formless, like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or creep or drip or crash. Be water, my friend.”

The computer generated ad was aired in China on 7 th July and has been created by ad agency BBH China. The ad was shot with a Bruce Lee look alike Danny Chan and was later created with computer graphics. The ad took over nine months to be produced due to the detailing required for the final product.

What do you think of the ad – controversial or brilliant – The graphics are brilliant, no doubt :)

Have a Super Sunday and a great week ahead.

Wow, the deadman still influence the audience. Nice idea from Johnnie Walker using the Dragon, that sowed the seed into the heart of 70’s and after, fans. But I can see the computer effects on Bruce Lee’s face was overdone.

    Still an awesome Ad.
