Google Page Rank (PR) Update November 2011

by ZK on November 8, 2011

Google is rolling a Page Rank update ( or a PR update) – The Google PR November 20011 update, this one is being rolled out less than three month after Google did one very recently in August 2011. The one prior to that was in June 2011.

Google seems to be rolling Page Rank updates every three months and if you want to increase your page rank in the next update you need to start work on back links for your blog today.

Recent Page Rank Update

I was happy to see the Google Toolbar show a PR 4 for this blog with this update. It’s been a roller coaster ride for most blogs and website since the recent Panda update. A lot of sites have seen a dip in traffic due to an algorithm change with the Panda algorithm update. While Page Rank may have lost its importance in recent times, its certainly not dead.

I believe that Page Rank is a very strong metric for any website, the higher the page rank better the authority and impact of your website on Google search results. If you have recently launched a blog or are new to the term “Page Rank” I suggest you read more on this subject and try to get to a Page Rank for your website in the next update.

Did you see a PR update for your website ? If you haven’t maybe you should wait for a day as the roll out can take up to 24 hours to show the results.

Yup, I saw a PR update on a lot of my sites. Must be doing something right! :) Though, I don’t worry too much about it. I have a PR1 outranking a PR5 for a very tough keyword, so page rank isn’t the main factor. As long as my sites traffic and conversions increase I’m happy!

ZK November 9, 2011 at 12:12 pm

Conversions are vital to any site :)

Google PR is definately not dead, I think it gives more of an indication of whether a site has quality content or not than say social media, ie. tweets or likes.

This is one of my many websites that have been affected in a very positive way by the Google PageRank Update.

I am now at a PageRank 5 wohoo!!

ZK November 9, 2011 at 12:15 pm

I think content is more important than PR. A new blog that I have – PR0 blog gets considerable amount of traffic for important keywords in its niche! I guess unique content is the key…

ZK November 9, 2011 at 12:16 pm

Content is king, if you have great content bloggers and site will link to you and that will automatically have an impact on PR

We have gone from 4 to 5. PageRank says (nothing) more, it is nice when your work appreciated by the powerful searchengine

My site did good with the PR update but dropped in the google rankings for a solid many keywords. Not sure what that means but PR is not dead by any means.

There is only a 2 kind of effect of google pagerank update. It’s either your Pr increase or decrease.

Missy Diaz November 10, 2011 at 5:33 pm

I still have a PR 3 on my main business blog – G34 Media, and both my ebook reader blog and my iPhone blog are also a PR 3. So all are doing well and holding up the same in Google’s eyes.

I still feel that Google brought the pagerank back because of Google Plus. They garnered mega points amongst bloggers and web marketers when they brought the PR back. Lol.

Cheers!

Congratulations on your page rank of 4! I was not aware that Google had recently made a page rank update. Now I need to go and check my sites to see how they’r doing. I know Google is also changing their algorithm again, this time giving more credit to fresh content. Thanks again for the update!

FindFiles.net November 11, 2011 at 6:09 am

The PR still provides a pretty good picture on how good a website is connected to the web, and that is an usefull information. We have a PR 5, a realistic assessment.

Kelli November 12, 2011 at 2:10 am

Ive actually seen an increase in traffice since panda, and I made no changes. Maybe I was doing everything wrong before? lol

paardenrassen November 12, 2011 at 7:27 am

I hope that my page rank will increase someday

Don@ Santa Cruz Realty November 12, 2011 at 11:41 am

How can you tell if Google has updated your pagerank? I have been a pr3 for a while and im hoping to move up to pr4.

PrIyAnGsHu @ MoneyEarningSecrets.Com November 12, 2011 at 1:03 pm

I agree with you ZK that Google Page Rank is the best metric tools in determining your online standing. This Google PR checker can also break or make your websites. Though, I know some may also disagree with me. Anyway, thank you ZK for this informative post about Google Page Rank updates.

Jasmine November 17, 2011 at 3:14 am

Haven’t seen my Pagerank move for quite a while… hoping it will go to PR7 soon. :)

I’m happy for you ZK,
some of my sites suffered a PR downgrade of 1 point. I hope that the next upate things will change. I’m working a lot to get it.

Lexmark Ink November 25, 2011 at 4:50 am

The PR update hasn’t actually impacted us, I guess we were one of the lucky ones. Well, not so lucky as to be boosted by the update I guess.
