Now that all is said on Digital marketing what’s left to talk about? Believe me, there is no limit to marketing tactics with new ideas.

So, this keeps me blogging about Digital Marketing and the role of Content Marketing in selling products online.

It’s a know fact that every e-commerce owner is using social media as the newest and most targeted platform to promote their products, but is it enough just to post on your Twitter handle and Facebook page every time you come up with a new product?

We all know that Content Marketing comes under Inbound Marketing along with SEO and SMM. We can also see that Social Media Marketing is getting most of the attention which is really really important but have you ever thought about going beyond what you have been doing for a long while?

Yes, I am taking you to the Content Marketing Boulevard which will influence you to apply it and also which shows results by increasing sales.

Here are 17 tips are here divided under 3 sub-categories.

  • Pre-Sale Strategies – As the word acknowledges itself, we know what pre-sale is but how to strategically handle with the help of content, is what I am going to cover here.

  1. Once you put up a website, the first element of promoting is to increasing online visibility to drive traffic to your website. You may have sold products without much visibility but with increasing competition you’ll have to find a way to increase visibility.

You really need a great content like captions, copy or tagline anything that grabs attention of visitor

  1. Become a market leader by responding to the questions, queries and any comments every now and then and also offer special advice and recommendations.

  1. The same rule applies on social media if you are promoting your product and don’t forget blogging and do all this with targeted keywords.

  1. Structure your content to keep an eye on the ongoing and upcoming buying cycle. The best thing is to aware people with the help of product videos, webinars etc. Self evaluation is very necessary to grow with the market pace, to do so, make case studies, FAQs, Demo Videos and online ads.

  1. How about giving free trials, live demos, usage of coupon code sites, product counseling etc.

  • Ask Yourself & Act Strategy – Well yes it sounds a bit dramatic but this step is a real to do one for if you don’t analyse your working and planning how will you move forward and make new strategies to increase sales?

  1. Do you regularly check the content that you have provided on your e-store? Do you ask yourself that are your visitors and possible customers finding content about your product online & is the content they are finding is on your site?

  2. You know what is your buyer’s purchase cycle with all the analysis, hence you should feature content throughout that cycle. Keep updating but not too frequently.

  3. Are you getting found? What makes you getting found in potential search is detailed product description. You should include product names, details, keywords like color options, size, features etc.

  4. Too much usage of generic names dump you down in the search. Keep the language plain and simple and highlight those details. This is kind of weird but studies tell us that products with negative reviews tend to convert 67% more after reading those reviews. Why so? Because after responding properly to those negative reviews people get proof and it happens to be like a recommendation.

  5. Definitely, add a link for every product on each page for people to submit reviews.

  • Are You Educating Your Buyers – By educating I mean, whenever someone searches for a product online which he wants to buy, he enters certain phrase or keywords related to his product search, are those keywords or phrase taking him to your e-shop? Is the content that you have placed in your product description box relates to the product he is searching and is he satisfied with your description?

Take simple steps forward to answer all these questions above, for yourself. You can aware people with your content. How?

Amanda is a buyer and she wants to purchase a digital camera. Now she writes a search phrase which says “Where to buy best Camcorders” and a list appears and you need to be in top positions on that list.

So you need to provide information about the product that she is searching and your content needs to include a uniquely written product information content about all the products available on your site in the searched category.

You can also put a great article on your blog about products available on your e shop with a thoughtful title short, relevant and catchy enough to grab buyer’s attention.

Provide a link of that product category which you have written article for as anchor text and on images that you post with the article. But the best deals can be served with a short description of that product with details of features and reviews.

  • Post-Sales Strategies – Obviously, these strategies are tailored to influence frequent purchasing of your product. How do you do it? You do it with your “Request Content”. Let’s see how.

  1. You must be having an E-mail strategy, so on behalf of it ask your customers to provide reviews for the products they bought from you. Edit it a bit, write a great marketing oriented content and approve the review.

  2. Limit the reviews to your customers only, this will help control spamming.

  3. The products which have been put or are, in-cart allot short descriptions to it and fun content in “check this out” screen.

  4. When you send confirmation mail, don’t forget to add positive reviews to it for it will reinforce the decision making process.

  5. To influence more sales, ensure you apply the rule of taking follow up email post sales.

  6. Whatever you are selling don’t forget to blog about it. Write and publish great blog posts about products, accessories, customer buying trends etc.

Thanks Sbazaar…….Post Sales Strategies are as important part of the whole marketing strategy as the pre. If not implemented then your marketing strategy remains incomplete and results don’t show up.

No-doubt content marketing is one of the most effective and keen source to increase sale of different products but there is one thing that these content should have all the basic information about product and it’s functions. Then it will be easy for readers or customers to take decision about to buy or not.

This is an awesome post. I like the post sales strategies especially the last point which advices one to blog about their products. A business can get unique blogging ideas if it gives tips about their products and how to use them or give further use for the products that their current customers probably didn’t know about. Thanks for sharing this.
